Just looking at my LJ and apparently I made two separate predictions for the Malaysian GP, one here and one at everythingf1 XD Neither were anywhere near the mark, but the one at the comm at least had Lewis in the right place! Man, what a crazy race. I don't think anyone predicted Fernando winning - it was almost more of a surprise than Perez coming second! I was yelling at the TV for Perez to take it, because he could've done, but for whatever reason he didn't. But still, great result for him!

Mark's having a steady start to the season which is nice. Bad luck for JB, but I don't feel so bad for him when Seb also finished outside the points. And at least Jenson was gracious in defeat, unlike Seb, whose bratty side is coming out a bit now he's not winning all the time! It's kind of funny to see, and nice that he's showing he's a mortal too lol.

Again, not thinking about Felipe's race >< Same pattern - up to 6th, then makes a mistake, loses some positions and never got them back cos he couldn't manage the tyres properly. I've also realised that after Australia I said something about "if he'd finished 15th", which is where he finished in Malaysia, so I need to say a much smaller number before China lol. Ferrari are being conspicuously supportive of him, anyway - I hope it's not just for show. Felipe bb is also apparently now on Twitter - I hope he takes a leaf out of Fernando's book and gives us regular photos! I've warmed to Nando a lot since he started tweeting, lol.

...Aaaand that's it for now, lol. One day I'll complete that meme I started XD

Woo another Mclaren front row lockout - time for a quick prediction before the race! I would LOVE to see Jenson win again but I think maybe it'll be Lewis's turn. So I'm going to say:

1. Lewis
2. Jenson
3. Seb

Not much variety I know lol, but I feel like those cars will be strongest again over the race, as it's only been a week. Lol Seb is so sulky when he's not winning all the time, he's nearly as bad as Lewis!

Felipe qualified better than last week at least, and closer to Fernando. Not a disaster, considering the car, but I just hope he can make the tyres work better! He made up loads of places at the start last time so I hope he can do that again and make it stick.

I watched the Fight DVD too - just the concert, none of the extras yet - and I don't really know where to rank it XD My feelings towards the album have always been lukewarm, so there are songs in the con that I could definitely have done without, haha, but there's nothing wrong with it - apart from Subaru not smiling for the ENTIRE first half XD It's becoming harder to rank DVDs as they become more numerous, I'm finding! But I don't want it to get to a situation where they always sing songs x, y, z etc and then the rest are from the new album and then are never heard of again. (In other words, I wanted moar 8Uppers songs, to be perfectly honest XD)

It's great to see them playing so many songs though - every time I hear them play I feel so proud of how far they've come! They get better musically every time and I love them for that!

Sooooo first race of the season last weekend, and it was a great one! :D (I SO nearly predicted the top 4 right, apart from getting Jenson and Seb the wrong way round, but then I decided to stick Kimi in there for a bit of variety so I messed it up, lol.) So happy Jenson won - and I had to lol at Lewis being such a moody brat. I mean he doesn't have to be happy to lose to his teammate, but he could at least save it till after the podium! Entitled little git, lol. So it's looking good for Mclaren. It was such a happy surprise to see them lock out the front row, so I hope they can keep building on this strong start. Ngl though I'd be sad if Red Bull just completely faded away, so it was kind of nice to see Seb improve his position from 6th on the grid to 2nd in the race. Wish Mark could've been on the podium too though - nearly!

I felt so bad for Pastor, he could maybe've had Alonso in that last lap! Speaking of Alonso, I just remembered how mad he was when he spun off in qualifying, and I snorted with laughter to myself XD I don't even have anything against him really, it just amuses me when he has bad luck XD

I don't even want to think about Felipe's race :X I think it's actually fortunate he had to retire, because if he'd finished 15th or something that would kind of have been worse. Hope he does better with the new chassis they're bringing him for Malaysia. It's just heartbreaking seeing him unable to make the car work for him. He made up so many places at the start, then... :S Ugh no I'm stopping now lol.

But all in all a good, exciting race! The podium wasn't nearly as much of a surprise as quali, but there's plenty of time for catch-up. And only two and a bit days till Malaysia starts!

I will make a post about the Fight DVD when I've seen it all and the extras! I ordered bluray in the end, as I do have a bluray player, lol. Idek what extras it comes with but at least they'll be in HD!

Two more sleeps till F1 timez!!! Akslajdhaj cannot contain excitement XD I'm going to make some predictions and express some hopes now to see how accurate/vain they are, lol.

- I don't really see any reason to believe Seb won't win the first race
- Secretly hoping Lewis has another shit season
- Openly hoping Jenson has a great one, because a) I like the guy and b) it'll rub salt into the wound if Lewis has a bad one
- Please Felipe, PLEASE get some podiums, or at least out-do Fernando sometimes! Idc if you stay at Ferrari (though frankly, I don't think they're going to get anyone better than you who's willing to be Fernando's underling), but please give us - and yourself! - some reasons to smile!
- Really want Daniel Ricciardo to have a good first season at Toro Rosso. Very excited to see him and JEV driving! Dan just seems like such a great guy, level-headed and laidback and cheerful.
- Hope Mark can have a much better season, and don't think it's unreasonable to expect it at this stage... He seems optimistic and the Red Bull family seems quite happy and cosy right now so I hope he can carry on where he left off last year :)
- Excited for fresh bromance, ngl. *grabby hands*

I got out of the habit of trying to be too evangelical about fandoms but maybe I'll keep posting throughout the season and see if anyone gets intrigued, lol. I know a lot of you said you used to watch when you were younger and expressed an interest in getting reacquainted, so I plan to hold you to that! ;D

I admit, when friends predicted the possibility of an 8Ranger movie to me, I was highly doubtful. I never thought such a thing could occur within our lifetimes. The world, I thought, was just not ready.

And yet here we are! XD The world had better be ready, cos at the end of July, the 8Rangers are going to be unleashed upon it in a feature-length version. XD Incidentally, I wonder who's going to write the script...? I hope K8 have a hand in it - they couldn't not, really! And I wonder if it'll have random musical interludes, like the sketches do? And hopefully lots of trademark hugging too. ♥ (Orange/Yellow OTP!) It's going to be very exciting seeing how this pans out!

Also, it's right before 8/8. I wonder if there'll be some event then...? There really should be! XD

RIP Davy Jones. A true showman! I'm so glad I got to see the Monkees twice last year. Their music has brought me so much joy over the years, and their TV show has enhanced my life a lot since entering it last year too. I may not have grown up with the Monkees, even on their second or third time around, but so many of their songs are absolute 100% pop classics. I'm really touched by seeing how much love and appreciation there's been for Davy on Twitter and Tumblr. It's such a shock. I'm glad everyone is showing their respect for him - a real pop culture icon of his time.
